A carnation and hydrangea bouquet with stocks, alstroemeria and green button chrysanthemums, hand-tied by Ekaterina in Palma. It smells sweetly of stocks, comes in one size and is delivered by our own team anywhere in Mallorca, the same day if your order reaches us early enough. Pictured without paper; yours arrives in paper and ribbon, in the shades of the flowers of the day.

“Charm of Istanbul” carnation and hydrangea bouquet with stocks, hand-tied in Palma and delivered today in Mallorca

“Charm of Istanbul” is a carnation and hydrangea bouquet with stocks: five carnations, two hydrangeas, four stocks, four alstroemerias and three green button chrysanthemums, with filler flowers and greenery. Cheerful, generous and in one size only, it fills the room with the sweet scent of stocks as soon as it's unwrapped.

Ekaterina puts it together by hand at our Palma workshop, using the flowers delivered that morning, and our own team takes it to the door, wherever the address is on the island; if your order comes in early enough, it arrives today. Both photos show a real bouquet. In the first, it's in a woman's hands, so you can judge its size; the second is a close-up. There, the stocks are fuchsia and purple, the hydrangeas pale green, the carnations pink and the alstroemerias blush pink, with small white filler flowers and greenery. It's pictured without paper, tied with a pink satin ribbon; yours will come wrapped in paper with a ribbon, in whatever shades the flowers of the day bring.

What's in the “Charm of Istanbul” bouquet

Stocks and carnations
Four scented stems of stock and five carnations with frilly edges; fuchsia and pink in the photo.

Alstroemeria and button chrysanthemums
Four stems of alstroemeria, each with several blooms, and three green button chrysanthemums, round as little pompoms.

How to care for hydrangeas, carnations and stocks

  1. Once it's unwrapped: give every stem a clean, slanting cut with a sharp blade, then get the bouquet into a spotless vase of fresh water without delay.
  2. Leaves out of the water: stock leaves go soft quickly underwater and cloud it, so strip them from the lower stems. Change the water often, as stocks and hydrangeas are both thirsty.
  3. No sun, no fruit bowl: find a cool spot away from direct sun and radiators, and keep it clear of fruit: ripening fruit releases ethylene, a gas that speeds up wilting.

FAQ about the “Charm of Istanbul” bouquet

What flowers are in the “Charm of Istanbul” bouquet?

Four stocks, two hydrangeas, five carnations, four alstroemerias and three green button chrysanthemums, plus filler flowers and greenery, all tied by hand. It comes in one size only, exactly as photographed; seeing it in a woman's hands gives you a good idea of scale. There it has no paper, only a pink satin ribbon; the bouquet you order leaves the workshop in paper, tied with a ribbon.

What are stocks (alelíes)?

Stocks, or stock flowers, are what we call alelíes in Spanish: tall stems packed from top to bottom with small, ruffled blooms. People love them for their scent, which is sweet with a spicy, clove-like note. They're a cool-season flower, so they're easier to come by at some times of year than at others. In the photo of this bouquet, they're the fuchsia and purple stems.

Will the colours match the photo?

Not necessarily. Each morning we work with whatever comes into the workshop, and shades vary with availability: the stocks may come in a different pink, in lilac or in purple, the carnations and alstroemerias in another shade, and the hydrangeas in a different green or another colour altogether. The flowers in the mix (stocks, hydrangeas, carnations, alstroemerias and button chrysanthemums) and the size don't change. If you'd rather choose the colour yourself, our hydrangea bouquet comes in white, blue or pink.

Do you deliver flowers in Istanbul?

No, we don't. “Charm of Istanbul” is simply the name we gave this bouquet: we're based in Palma and we only deliver within Mallorca, so not to Istanbul or anywhere else in Turkey. For an address there, you'd need a local florist. What you can do is the reverse: order from Istanbul, or from wherever you happen to be, for someone who lives in Mallorca or is here on holiday, and we'll hand it over in person. All you have to do is write the card.

Do you have other bouquets named after cities?

Yes, this one belongs to a small family. Our “Prague” bouquet of hydrangea, roses and alstroemeria is quieter (white and green in the photo), and the “Vienna Charm” bouquet with peonies and hydrangea brings together peonies, hydrangea, alstroemeria and spray roses. Hydrangea is the common thread in all three.

If I order now, will it arrive today?

It depends on when you order. As a general guide, an order placed before 9:00 normally goes out in the morning, and anything ordered before 13:00 in the afternoon. We're out delivering Monday to Friday, 10:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00, and on Saturday mornings, 10:00–14:00; there are no deliveries on Sundays. Choose the day and time slot when you pay; our own team hands the bouquet over anywhere in Mallorca, or you can pick it up at the shop yourself. Questions? Phone or WhatsApp: +34 658 838 056.

What if the stocks start to bend?

It's normal for stock stems to lean a little towards the light, and if they run short of water, the tips droop. Trim a couple of centimetres off each stem at an angle, give them fresh water and turn the vase now and then, so they don't all lean the same way.

Who are you?

We're a family business with our own flower shop in Palma; the shop and workshop are on C/ Cardenal Rossell 73, in Coll d'en Rabassa, a few minutes from the airport. Ekaterina chooses the flowers each morning and designs the bouquets, this one included; Sergio looks after the website and Bloomi, an AI assistant that can suggest what to write on your card. We deliver ourselves, by hand. And judging by our reviews, it's working: 4.8 on Trustpilot from more than 200 reviews, and 4.7 on Google from more than 400.
