“Elise” assorted bouquet: a cheerful mix of seasonal flowers, delivered in Mallorca

“Elise” is a mixed flower bouquet with a happy, easy-going feel; Ekaterina builds it by hand in Palma from whatever reaches the workshop that morning.

We put it together on the day it is due to go out, and one of our own drivers hands it over in person, wherever on the island the recipient happens to be; get your order in early and that can be today. The bouquet in the photo is a real “Elise”: two sunflowers in the middle, small daisy-type chrysanthemums in a lilac pink, greenish-yellow alstroemeria, lilac-dyed decorative leaves and a little greenery, wrapped in peach paper with a grey ribbon. Treat it as an example: the flowers and shades change with what comes in each day, while the cheerful style and the size stay the same.

What goes into “Elise”

The star flower
In the photo, two sunflowers sit at the centre and set the mood of the whole bouquet.

Smaller blooms around it
Daisy-type chrysanthemums and alstroemeria fill it out; in the photo, lilac pink and greenish yellow.

Decorative leaves
Dyed and green leaves add movement and a playful, unexpected touch.

Caring for a mixed bouquet with sunflowers

  1. The moment it arrives: remove the wrapping, give every stem a clean diagonal cut with a sharp knife and put the bouquet straight into fresh water, keeping all leaves above the waterline.
  2. Sunflowers are thirsty: of all the flowers here, they drink the most, so check the level each morning and top it up; replace all the water every couple of days.
  3. Tidy as you go: the smaller flowers don't all fade at once, so lift out any that wilt and the rest will carry on. Keep it away from strong sun, radiators and the fruit bowl.

FAQ about the “Elise” bouquet

Which flowers are in the “Elise” bouquet?

As an assorted bouquet, it has no fixed recipe: Ekaterina builds it from the cheerful flowers she has in the workshop that day. The one in the photo had two sunflowers, small daisy-type chrysanthemums, alstroemeria, dyed decorative leaves and green foliage. Because the mix changes, we don't give a set number of stems.

Will the colours and flowers match the photo?

Probably not exactly. We work with the flowers that come in each morning, and the same varieties and shades aren't always available, so your “Elise” may have different flowers or a different palette. In the photo, yellow leads, with lilac pink and green alongside. What we keep is the idea: a cheerful, varied bouquet of the same size. It will be wrapped in paper and ribbon, though not necessarily peach and grey.

Is there always a sunflower in it?

In the photo, yes: there are two. But sunflowers depend on the market, and on some days another bright, cheerful flower may take their place. If a sunflower is a must, go for a bouquet where it is the main flower: our sunflower bouquet or the bouquet of sunflowers and gerberas.

What are the lilac leaves?

They are dyed decorative leaves, a florist's finishing touch that lightens the bouquet and adds a different note of colour. They aren't flowers and don't steal the show; they simply round it off. Like everything else, they depend on the day and may be left out or come in another shade.

If I order now, can it arrive today?

Usually, yes: it comes down to when your order lands. Roughly speaking, if it is placed before 9:00 it will normally make the morning run, and before 13:00, the afternoon one. Our drivers do two runs Monday to Friday, 10:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00; on Saturdays there is only the morning run (10:00–14:00), and nothing goes out on Sundays. Choose the day and slot when you pay. Collecting in person is fine too: you'll find us in Coll d'en Rabassa, near the airport. For anything else, just call or WhatsApp +34 658 838 056.

Why is the sunflower hanging its head?

Nearly always it's thirst: the thick stem draws up a lot of water, and when supplies run low the flower bends over. Top up the vase, trim a piece off the stem at an angle and leave it in fresh water somewhere out of the sun; it often perks up again.

How big is it?

It comes in one size only, the one in the photo: the hand holding it gives you a sense of scale. We don't quote exact measurements because the mix of flowers varies slightly from day to day.

Who are you?

Floristería Mallorca is a family business: a shop with its own workshop at C/ Cardenal Rossell 73, Coll d'en Rabassa (Palma), a short hop from the airport. Every morning Ekaterina decides which flowers to work with and designs the bouquets; we deliver them ourselves, by hand, across Mallorca; and the website, along with Bloomi, the AI assistant you can ask for help with the words on your card, is Sergio's department.
