“Tuscany” sunflower bouquet: three sunflowers with wheat and seasonal flowers, delivered across Mallorca

“Tuscany” is a sunflower bouquet with a countryside feel: three sunflowers, lisianthus, small chrysanthemums, ears of wheat and hypericum, tied by hand in Palma and taken to any doorstep in Mallorca.

Ekaterina makes it by hand with flowers she chose at first light; then it travels across the island in our van, from Palma to the smallest village, to be handed over in person. An order that comes in early can even arrive today. Both photos show the same real bouquet: in one a hand is holding it, in the other you see it close up. There are the three sunflowers, lilac and greenish-white lisianthus, small lilac chrysanthemums, ears of wheat, green hypericum berries and pittosporum leaves, in purple and yellow paper with a pale ribbon. Take it as an example: the sunflowers and wheat are always there, while the other shades follow the flowers of the day.

What's in the “Tuscany” bouquet

Three sunflowers
Three big yellow heads lead the bouquet; nobody walks past them without noticing.

Wheat and hypericum
Ears of wheat and berry-laden sprigs bring the rustic touch behind its name.

Lisianthus and chrysanthemums
Gentler blooms tucked in around the sunflowers; their shade depends on the day (lilac in the photo).

Occasions for it

Birthday
Three little suns in a vase to mark someone's big day, at home or at the office.

Saying thank you
To the person next door who keeps your post safe, or the colleague who got you out of a fix: thanks that stays in view.

Get well or cheer up
When someone is off sick at home or in a gloomy patch, three sunflowers by the bed change the whole room.

New home
Keys just handed over, or freshly arrived in Mallorca: the first bouquet to christen the new living room.

How to care for a bouquet with sunflowers

  1. When you unwrap it: remove the paper, give each stem a slanting cut with a sharp knife, then strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline.
  2. Water every day: the sunflowers are the thirstiest flowers here, so look at the level daily, top it up as needed and change all the water every other day.
  3. The right spot: a heavy vase, because sunflower heads weigh quite a bit, in a light corner where the sun doesn't hit it directly, with no radiator or fruit bowl nearby.

FAQ about the “Tuscany” sunflower bouquet

Which flowers are in the “Tuscany” bouquet?

Three sunflowers at its heart, surrounded by lisianthus and small-headed chrysanthemums that look rather like daisies. Tucked in between are ears of wheat, sprigs of hypericum with their round berries and pittosporum leaves, green with pale edges. The ears of wheat and the hypericum berries are purely decorative touches. We tie it by hand and it leaves the workshop wrapped in paper and ribbon.

Will the colours match the photo?

The sunflowers and wheat will: the yellow of the sunflower and the gold of the wheat don't change. Everything else depends on which flowers come in each morning, so the lisianthus, chrysanthemums and hypericum berries may turn up in other shades, depending on availability. Yellow is the main colour in the photo, set off by lilac and green. What stays the same is the recipe: three sunflowers, the same kinds of flowers and the same size. The wrapping can vary as well: purple and yellow paper in this case.

Do you deliver sunflowers in Tuscany?

No, sorry. “Tuscany” is just what we called the bouquet, because the sunflowers and wheat reminded us of the fields in that part of Italy. Our shop is in Palma and we only deliver in Mallorca, which means Florence, Siena and the rest of Italy are out of reach for us. It works perfectly the other way round, though: from Italy, or wherever you live, you can order online for someone staying on the island, and one of us will put the bouquet into their hands.

How do I keep the sunflowers looking their best?

It's all about water. A sunflower's stem is thick and very thirsty, so glance at the level every day and refill it long before it runs low. Should a head begin to bow, shorten the stem by two centimetres or so, cutting on a diagonal, and get it back into fresh water at once. As the heads are heavy, a sturdy vase helps, and the bouquet is happiest away from strong sun, heaters and ripening fruit.

Can it arrive today?

That depends on what time your order reaches us. As a rough rule, anything placed before 9:00 is normally on its way that morning, and anything placed before 13:00 that afternoon. Our vans are out Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and again from 16:00 to 20:00; Saturday deliveries run from 10:00 to 14:00 only, and on Sundays the vans stay parked. You pick the date and time slot when you pay. Rather pick it up yourself? You'll find our shop in Coll d'en Rabassa, just minutes from the airport. For anything else, +34 658 838 056 takes both calls and WhatsApp messages.

Do you have other bouquets with sunflowers?

Yes. If you'd like sunflowers and nothing else, our sunflower bouquet is the one for you. And if you fancy them alongside red roses, there's our rose and sunflower bouquet. You'll find more combinations, with gerberas or in mixed bouquets, in the sunflower section of the shop.

How big is it?

There is just the one size, as pictured. In the main photo a hand is holding it, which gives you the scale; it's a bouquet you carry in one arm and that sits nicely in a medium vase. Precise measurements would be misleading, because every sunflower opens in its own way.

Who are you?

We're Floristería Mallorca, a family flower shop in Palma. Ekaterina runs the flower side: each morning she decides what comes in, then ties the bouquets one by one in our workshop (C/ Cardenal Rossell 73, Coll d'en Rabassa). Sergio handles everything digital: the website, available in five languages, including English, German, French and Russian, and Bloomi, our AI assistant, who will suggest ideas if you get stuck on your card message. Thanks to that, someone living abroad can send flowers to a person on the island as easily as if they were in Palma.
