How to hang and keep your mistletoe

Pick a high spot: a door frame, a lamp or a ceiling hook, out of reach of children and pets. It is decorative and not to be eaten.
Away from heat: keep it clear of radiators, fireplaces and direct sun so the leaves stay green for longer.
Once it dries: the colour fades gradually, which is normal. Plenty of people keep the dried sprigs until the following Christmas as a keepsake.

Questions about our lucky mistletoe

Can I order the mistletoe on its own?

No. It is an add-on and we only send it together with another order from our shop: flowers, a basket or a gift. Add it at checkout alongside whatever you are sending; it pairs nicely with the “Gloria” bouquet of red roses and fir or with our Christmas plant basket with a poinsettia.

Where do you hang it and what does it mean?

Traditionally it goes over the front door or hangs from the ceiling during the festive season, as a wish for good luck in the year ahead. In the UK, Germany, France and elsewhere, there is also the well-known custom of kissing under the mistletoe. There is no fixed spot: it is the gesture that counts.

Is it real mistletoe?

Yes: genuine sprigs of mistletoe with their long green leaves, plus some other greenery. The bag in the photo was put together in our own shop.

Is it safe with children or pets around?

It is a decorative plant, not something to eat. Simply hang it up high, out of reach of children, dogs and cats, as you would with any delicate Christmas decoration.

How long does it keep?

Being natural, it slowly dries out: the leaves lose their shine and turn paler. It needs no watering. Some people leave it hanging after it has dried and only swap it for a fresh one the following Christmas.

Will mine match the picture?

The essentials stay the same: the bag of mistletoe sprigs and the ribbon. As it is a natural plant, the size and shape of the sprigs, the greenery with them and the print on the bag may vary depending on what is available that day.

When and how is it delivered?

It never travels alone: it leaves our shop in the same delivery as your bouquet, basket or gift, and our driver hands it over personally, in town or out in the villages. When you complete your purchase, you pick the delivery date and a time window. Roughly speaking, mistletoe ordered before 9:00 can normally be with the recipient by lunchtime, and before 13:00 by the evening. The rounds run Monday to Friday in two shifts (10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00); on Saturdays only the morning shift operates, and nothing goes out on Sundays. December is our busiest month, so we recommend placing your order well in advance. Prefer to drop by? You can collect everything at the shop instead.

Who are you?

We are a family-run florist from Palma. Our shop is at C/ Cardenal Rossell 73, Coll d'en Rabassa, just down the road from the airport; Ekaterina selects the flowers there first thing and designs the orders. The website is Sergio's domain, and so is Bloomi, an AI assistant of our own that drafts the card message for you if your mind goes blank. On Trustpilot we hold a 4.8 (over 200 reviews) and on Google a 4.7 (over 400).
