Pitimini Spray Roses and Statice Bouquet

Pitimini is the name used in Spain for spray roses, sometimes called mini roses. Instead of a single large flower, each stem branches into several small roses and buds, so ten stems fill the bouquet with little blooms, as you can see in the photos. Statice is limonium, also known as sea lavender: clusters of tiny, slightly papery flowers that fill the gaps between the roses and add volume. Not always. The flowers stay the same, pitimini roses and statice, but the shades depend on the batch that reaches our workshop each morning and on what is available. In the photos the spray roses are cream with a hint of peach and the statice is a pinkish lilac. The make-up never changes: ten stems of pitimini, statice and greenery. If one shade really matters to you (red roses, for instance), ask us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will let you know which colours are in the workshop.

This bouquet is designed as a gift: long stems, simply tied, as in the photos, without the shape or finish of a bridal bouquet. Spray roses are very popular at weddings, though, because of their size and their buds. That is simply how spray roses grow: open roses and green buds share each stem, which is what gives the bouquet its natural look. At home, in clean water, a good number of those buds can open over the following days, so the bouquet changes a little every morning.

The basics: a clean vase with fresh water, a slanted cut on each stem when it arrives, and no leaves below the waterline, as they cloud the water. Refresh the water often and pick off any roses that have faded so the new ones can show. The statice is the toughest part: when the roses are finished, you can let it dry and keep it.

Generally, yes. An order in by 9:00 will normally travel with our morning deliveries, and one in by 13:00 with the afternoon ones. On weekdays there are two delivery windows, 10:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00; on Saturdays just the morning (10:00–14:00), and on Sundays none.
