How to care for a phalaenopsis orchid

Water by soaking: roughly once a week (less in winter), lift the pot out of its wrapping or outer pot, soak it in water for about 10 minutes and let it drain well before putting it back. Never leave water sitting in the bottom.
Light and temperature: plenty of light but no direct sun, 18-25 °C, away from draughts and radiators.
When the flowers fall: cut the spike just above the second or third node so the plant can reshoot and flower again.

How long will the orchid stay in flower?

For several weeks and, in good conditions, often one to three months. And because it is a plant rather than a bouquet, that is not the end of the story: with basic care it can flower again.

Which colours can I choose?

How do I send an orchid online to someone in Mallorca?

You can order from anywhere, including the UK. Choose the colour, write your card message and, at checkout, enter the address and pick a delivery date and time slot. You can also collect it from our shop in Palma. We prepare it in our workshop and hand it over in person.

Can you deliver an orchid today?

Usually, yes. As a guide, order before 9:00 for delivery in the morning or before 13:00 for delivery in the afternoon. We deliver Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, and on Saturdays in the morning only (10:00 to 14:00). There are no deliveries on Sundays.

Is it hard to look after if I have never had an orchid?

No. Phalaenopsis is one of the easiest orchids to keep at home: a weekly soak and a bright spot out of direct sun cover almost everything it needs. The one thing it dislikes is sitting in water, so always empty the outer pot.

Will it flower again?

It can. Once the last flowers drop, cut the spike above the second or third node and keep watering as usual. With good light and a little patience, it may produce a new spike and bloom again.
