“Tropical Passion” tropical bouquet with anthurium: fresh flowers, dried accents, delivered today in Mallorca

“Tropical Passion” is a tropical bouquet with anthurium and gerberas, joined by chrysanthemums and a handful of dried touches that give it a warm, slightly wild feel.

Ekaterina builds it in Palma from flowers she chose when the workshop opened, and one of our team delivers it personally, be it in town or out in the countryside; place the order early and that happens today. In the photo: three good-sized red anthuriums, coral-salmon gerberas with dark centres, small pink daisy-type chrysanthemums, a fan of dried beige palm, dried grasses and toasted-brown dried flowers, all wrapped in sea-green paper with a red ribbon. We send it wrapped in paper with a ribbon, and the tones it ends up with are decided by that day's delivery of flowers.

What's in the “Tropical Passion” bouquet

Anthurium
The glossy, lacquered-looking tropical flower that sets the bouquet's character; there are three in the photo.

Gerberas and chrysanthemums
Big round gerberas and small chrysanthemums fill the gaps with colour.

Dried accents
A palm fan, grasses and dried flowers bring texture and a sun-baked note.

When to give it

Birthday
For someone who would find a rose bouquet predictable: unusual shapes and a card with your own words.

Good news
A promotion, a passed exam or a new business opening its doors: a lively bouquet to celebrate it.

A gift for him
Far from the classic romantic bouquet: clean lines and dried pieces for anyone who isn't into delicate flowers.

Home or office
In a hallway, on a desk or at reception, it adds colour and a silhouette people notice.

How to care for an anthurium and gerbera bouquet

  1. When you unwrap it: trim each fresh stem on a slant and arrange everything in a spotless vase; the palm, grasses and dried flowers need no water, so keep them above the waterline.
  2. Go easy on the water: a few centimetres is enough for gerberas, whose soft stems spoil if they sit deep in water for long. Refresh it often.
  3. Bright but not sunny: anthurium likes light, though not full sun; keep the bouquet away from radiators, draughts and the fruit bowl.

FAQ about the “Tropical Passion” bouquet

What is an anthurium?

A tropical flower (Anthurium andraeanum) that comes from the warm regions of the Americas. What looks like one shiny petal is really a modified leaf, the spathe, with a finish that seems almost lacquered; the true flowers are tiny and sit on the spike in the middle, the spadix. As a cut flower it is one of the hardiest we work with, which is why it forms the backbone of this bouquet. If you'd like it on its own, have a look at our “Venice” anthurium bouquet, made with anthurium only.

Will mine be the same colours as the photo?

The flowers, yes; the tones, not always. Anthurium and gerberas form the base, alongside chrysanthemums and dried pieces, but each shade comes from the flowers of the day and their availability: a gerbera can turn up more orange, pinker or redder, the chrysanthemums shift with every batch, and the dried part is adjusted to what we have in stock. Red, coral and beige, as pictured, is one possible mix.

Is it a dried flower bouquet?

No. Most of it is fresh, and it goes in water like any other bouquet. The dried elements (the palm fan, the grasses and a few toasted-brown flowers) are there for texture and need no water; in fact, it is better if they stay dry. Once the fresh flowers are over, you can reuse those pieces in a vase without water.

What helps it stay at its best?

Keep an eye on the gerberas first, as they are the ones that need attention soonest: if one starts to bend its neck, shorten its stem slightly and put it back in a vase with just a little fresh water. The anthurium usually outlasts everything else, so when the rest of the bouquet has had its day, you can move it to a slim vase on its own and enjoy it for a while longer.

Can it arrive today?

Yes, as long as the order is placed in time. Roughly speaking, confirm it before 9:00 and it usually leaves that morning; before 13:00, that afternoon. We deliver Monday to Friday in two windows, 10:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00, and on Saturdays only in the morning window (10:00–14:00); nothing goes out on Sundays. Pick the day and slot as you complete checkout, and our team brings the bouquet to the address you give, whether in Palma or a village inland. If you'd rather collect it, come by the shop in Coll d'en Rabassa, a few minutes from the airport. For questions, +34 658 838 056 takes calls and WhatsApp messages.

Do you have something similar with more gerberas?

Yes: our gerbera bouquet is made with eleven gerberas in mixed colours, with no anthurium or dried pieces. It is a simpler, very cheerful alternative if those round flowers are what you love most about “Tropical Passion”.

Is it a good bouquet to give a man?

Quite often, yes. It does not have the feel of a romantic rose bouquet: the anthurium, with its clean, graphic shape, and the dried palm give it a more architectural look that suits people who aren't keen on delicate flowers. For a colleague, a friend or your partner, just add a card with a couple of lines.

Who are you?

Floristería Mallorca is a family florist in Palma, and designer bouquets are our speciality. Ekaterina starts the day choosing the flowers herself, and each design grows out of what she finds; mixes like this one, tropical blooms with dried pieces, are tied by hand, stem by stem, in our workshop at C/ Cardenal Rossell 73, Coll d'en Rabassa. Delivery is in our own hands too, and for the card message there is Bloomi, an AI assistant built into the website and looked after by Sergio.
