It is hand-tied in our Coll d'en Rabassa workshop with flowers Ekaterina picks that same morning, and we take it ourselves to any town on the island. The photo is real: the lilies are still green, closed buds, the white lisianthus is open, and eucalyptus and long green leaves provide the contrast. It is wrapped in kraft paper with a lace pattern and tied with twine.

Buds travel well and give you the longest show at home. In the photo you can see them still green and closed: after a few days they begin to open, one at a time, and that is when the white petals and the scent appear. The lisianthus is already open on arrival, so the bouquet looks finished from day one.
Oriental lilies are fragrant, and once they open you will notice them in the room; the lisianthus and eucalyptus add very little. Many people enjoy it, but if the person you are sending it to is sensitive to strong smells, the “Mónica” bouquet of roses and lisianthus may suit them better: soft white lisianthus without the lily perfume.
As each flower opens, pinch out the anthers (the orange, elongated tips in the centre) with your fingers or a tissue. That keeps the pollen off clothes, tablecloths and the white petals. If a mark does appear, do not rub it with water: lift it off dry, with a piece of sticky tape.
Lisianthus is the trade name for eustoma, a flower with fine petals that curl like a rose's; many people take them for small roses in the photo. In Spain florists call it lisianthus too, and sometimes eustoma. Each stem carries several flowers and a few buds, and in white it brings softness next to the bold lilies.
